At the core of the mattress is an open coil interior that is made up of hourglass shaped springs connected at the top and bottom by a spiral wire, known as a helical wire.

To provide extra durability and edge to edge support, a thick heavy gauge perimeter wire is attached around the border of the spring interior.

This heavy gauge wire lets you sleep right up to the edge of the mattress without the sensation of rolling off, allowing you the full width of the sleeping surface.
