In 1957, when the US Embassy in Paris was in search of an extraordinary wedding gift for the union of Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier of Monaco, they entrusted Reeds embroidery factory in Madeira with the task.
The result was a remarkable tablecloth design, masterfully crafted with organdy and linen appliqus, under the creative guidance of artist Max Klein.
