Made from hardwood and beautifully hand-carved this little ornament / table has great attention to detail.

The carvings depicting the elephant’s features are representative and suggestive with the droopy ears and the long, slightly morose face that typifies the real thing in the wild.

The detail comes in the carving of the back covering that forms the top and extends down each side culminating in the carved tassles at the bottom.

Amazing attention to detail in the hand-carved floral covering …  This is beautifully detailed with a mix floral and swirling patterns that interlink to form an attractive and distinct pattern.

The whole thing is perfectly compact and sturdy making it perfect for use as a small table or stool as well as a bespoke ornament lovingly carved from a single piece of wood.

There’s a wonderful symmetry to the whole thing – even the curve in the trunk at the front is repeated in the tail carving on the back.

The darker, natural grain of the wood adds a further dimension that compliments the smooth lines of the carved areas themselves.
