Designed by David Trubridge, this lamp with symmetrical curves is inspired by New Zealand sea urchin, called 'Kina'.

Eco-friendly and responsible, this ceiling light is made from sustainable (FSC) bamboo, delivered in a kit set which size represents only a few percent of the final size of the object and contains a 2m long plastic cable.

"Kina is the Maori name for the local sea-urchin.

Under the spines the shell is shaped like this with similar surface patterns.

I saw this tiny one in Antarctica, sunk in the sea ice in a hollow that was made when the shell absorbed the warmth from the sun and melted the ice around it ' an exquisite jewel.
