Not every vase can be a work of art, however beautiful and stylish, but in the case of the Gala from the New York Designer Jonathan Adler such a claim is well founded.
It was inspired by Gala, who was the wife and muse of the influential Spanish surrealist artist Salvador Dali, and it features distinctly Dali-esque touches executed in Adler's own signature style.
His usual geometric stylings are replaced with a repeating relief pattern of lips, and the white glaze is decorated with enormous wit and invention: bright pink tongues, dollar signs and cartoonish moustaches make this a memorable, unique and immensely amusing piece.
