Vintage dark wood upholstered rocking armchair with floral fabric

Vintage wooden rocking armchair with a tall upholstered back, padded seat and broad cushioned armrests. The dark-stained frame has a substantial traditional form, with closely spaced turned spindles beneath the arms and back, plus multiple turned stretchers running between the curved rockers. The upholstery is a muted terracotta-red fabric woven with large beige, sage and dusky pink flowers, finished with looped decorative braid around each panel.

It has a generous, upright seat and high back suited to a reading corner, bedroom or fireside spot. The wide rocker base gives it a solid footprint, while the shaped side supports and rows of spindle work give it plenty of character from every angle. There is visible age-related wear to the wood finish, particularly along the seat edge, rocker ends and other high-contact corners, where lighter timber shows through. The fabric is generally presentable but has some wear and a noticeable worn/damaged area at the front of the left armrest, as photographed.
